Finnian Johnson grew up in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, and was raised on country music which is reflected in his deep and dulcet tone.
At 12 years old, following almost a decade of bedroom karaoke, Finnian began teaching himself guitar and was performing live within a year. Since then, Finnian has been a mainstay of the Hunter Valley and Newcastle live music scene, also taking the stage at a multitude of notable venues and events including the Tamworth Country Music Festival and Gympie Muster, singing alongside country music legends like Troy Cassar-Daley, Bill Chambers and Troy Kemp. In 2022, Finnian was a contestant on Season 11 of the popular television series The Voice Australia, making the Top 12 and receiving valuable mentorship from coach Jessica Mauboy.
Now 20 years old, Finnian remains dedicated to growing as a country singer and songwriter. While striving to forge his own sound, Finnian remains heavily influenced by artists who tell stories through their music, notably Troy Cassar-Daley, Johnny Cash and Randy Travis.
Earlier this year, Finnian hit the road with Brooke McClymont and Adam Eckersley on their ‘Country Music, You and Beer Tour’ along the East Coast of Australia from January to May. Since then, Finnian has released his debut single “July”, receiving over 250,000 streams to date as well as performing in the Gympie Music Muster NAB Talent Search where he was announced a finalist. Finnian is now gearing up to release his debut original song “Dishonest” on 22nd September.
