A fresh, vibrant emerging singer-songwriter is making her mark on country music. Queensland’s Sunshine Coast based Shanleigh Rose is announcing her second single release for 2023. “Here We Go Again” is a song that was penned out of the 2023 CMAA Junior Academy of Country Music. Co-written with David Carter, the song talks about the frustrations of misunderstanding and miscommunication, especially when things get to a place of “what’s the point in talking if we only hear what we want to?” The lyric “Here We Go Again” paints the picture to the cyclical and volatile nature of the constant arguments that are caused when there’s a lack of communication and understanding.
“Here We Go Again,” originated as a little riff I came up with during a guitar lesson. I went home and wrote the chorus and it sort of just sat in my voice memos for a couple months until the CMAA Academy of Country Music. I was lucky enough to have a co-writing session with the amazing David Carter and we finished the song together. The song drew loose inspiration from living with such a huge family and even though I love them to bits, sometimes we argue like it’s an Olympic sport. The song’s lyrics pay tribute to the tangled web of miscommunication and misunderstandings in relationships and how frustrating the cycle can be” Shanleigh Rose
Shanleigh Rose has cemented a solid foundation at an early stage of her career, graduating the 2023 CMAA Junior Academy, and being invited to perform at events like Tamworth Country Music Festival, ‘Beat The Retreat’ Veterans Concert and Rangebow Festival. The talented songstress has also shared the stage with artists such as Vixens of Fall, Kelly Cork and Col Finley and was just announced the WINNER of the 2023 NAB Gympie Muster Youth Talent Search at Gympie Music Muster earning her a spot on the main stage on the day of announcement.
This committed and passionate recording artist was inspired by a range of talented artists including Kasey Chambers, Taylor Swift, Avril Lavigne, Luke O’Shea, Hozier, Ed Sheeran, Adele, Vance Joy and many more. From an early age, their story telling, imagery and melodies influenced Shanleigh to craft her own contemporary fusion of country and folk that creates a vibrant tapestry of sound that is both pleasing to the ear and hard not to love.
Shanleigh has released three independent tracks. Her previous single “Boy Next Door” released April 2023, received airplay on community stations and major stations including ABC Country’s ‘Saturday Night Country’. The popular track was also added to Apple Music editorial playlist Aussie Country.
