Will Day is launching into 2021 with a refreshed enthusiasm and a drive to bring country rock to the forefront, so it’s no surprise that Will’s new supercharged single ‘Countrified’ is energetic, authentic and dynamic. The song, which tells the story of transforming a city slickers life to a country one, will be the title track from his highly anticipated forthcoming debut album.

It very much correlates to what people can expect in one of my live shows. I feel with the rise of modern country rock over the last decade, there’s a whole lot of folks who have been converted to country music and everything it stands for. In follow up to Will’s heartfelt ballad, ‘Dear Dad’ which enjoyed success at #1 on the iTunes Country Chart and #7 on the All Genres Chart late 2020, Will returns to country rock, with guitar driven tracks and catchy foot stomping hooks. His immense passion of touring means he is pumped to bring his live show to Australian audiences later this year, especially after taking a year off while the world worked through the Covid-19 pandemic.
“2020 was brutal for the arts and creative industries. But we’re a resilient bunch and feel like we’re slowly getting back on our feet. I was due to release my debut album last year, so to be finally able to release it this year is very exciting. 2021 will be all about hitting the road and promoting this album as far and wide as possible. This single is the title track and I’m extremely proud of this body of work. There’s a whole bunch of never before heard songs on the record that I cannot wait to get out there. Bring it on!”
With a strong touring ethic, Will has constantly enjoyed being a crowd favourite, always delivering a high energy show.. He has opened for the likes of Morgan Evans, Shannon Noll, Icehouse, Diesel, The Whitlams, Hoodoo Gurus, The Baby Animals, The Black Sorrows, Kingswood, Col Finley and The Viper Creek Band while also appearing at some of Australia’s most iconic country music festivals, including Tamworth Country Music Festival, Groundwater Country Music Festival and Gympie Music Muster.
Will has been announced to perform at Savannah in the Round at Mareeba, North Queensland in October. Will joins the likes of Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, The Wolfe Brothers, James Blundell, Brad Cox, Casey Barnes, Col Finley, Southbound, Fanny Lumsden and many more! This festival will form part of his massive national tour which will reach every state and territory and will commence with a Brisbane album launch, followed by a hometown album launch in Goondiwindi in July.
In further news, Will has entered into a long-term partnership with outstanding Australian clothing and accessories company Ringers Western who have been announced as Will’s official wardrobe sponsor. In July, Will performed to a massive crowd for Round Up at CMC Rocks in Rockhampton for Beef Week which received rave reviews.
2019 was a breakout year for Will, where he enjoyed nine straight shows at Tamworth Country Music Festival. In March, he released his next single ‘The Real World’ (co-written with Matt Scullion) which reached #1 on Australian Country Radio. Will then went on to release the summer anthem ‘Here to Party’ in October reaching #23 on the major Music Network Country Charts.
