Will Day is launching into 2021 with a refreshed enthusiasm and a drive to bring country rock to the forefront, so it’s no surprise that Will’s new supercharged single ‘Countrified’ is energetic, authentic and dynamic. The song, which tells the story of transforming a city slickers life to a country one, will be the title track from his highly anticipated forthcoming debut album.
“Being the title track of my debut album, I’m extremely excited for the world to hear this song. Co-written with Skye Day, it’s rockin’, in your face and gritty. It very much correlates to what people can expect in one of my live shows. I feel with the rise of modern country rock over the last decade, there’s a whole lot of folks who have been converted to country music and everything it stands for. This song is all about that and the process of being ‘Countrified”
In follow up to Will’s heartfelt ballad, ‘Dear Dad’ which enjoyed success at #1 on the iTunes Country Chart and #7 on the All Genres Chart late 2020, Will returns to country rock, with guitar driven tracks and catchy foot stomping hooks. His immense passion of touring means he is pumped to bring his live show to Australian audiences later this year, especially after taking a year off while the world worked through the Covid-19 pandemic.
“2020 was brutal for the arts and creative industries. But we’re a resilient bunch and feel like we’re slowly getting back on our feet. I was due to release my debut album last year, so to be finally able to release it this year is very exciting. 2021 will be all about hitting the road and promoting this album as far and wide as possible. This single is the title track and I’m extremely proud of this body of work. There’s a whole bunch of never before heard songs on the record that I cannot wait to get out there. Bring it on!”
