Country/Rocker Brook Chivell makes a much-anticipated return with a dynamic new single. ‘Outta My Song’ (released to radio Thursday 26th July and iTunes on Monday 30th July) is a dirt-country-meets-rock anthem of good riddance to an unwanted muse. Brook channels his inner Brothers Osborne and grinds it with Black Crowes to create a new southern style sound recipe.
“I wrote so many songs about this one girl. Love songs, sad songs, break up songs…I got so sick of this woman infiltrating my writing. I said to my writing partner, Anthony Emery, ‘I just need her to get out of my god damn song!’ And so the song developed, and thankfully was the last one she ever inspired”
After being selected for the Top 10 at 2017 Starmaker held at Tamworth Country Music Festival, Brook went on to release his debut solo single and music video for ‘Hot Country Girl’ to rave reviews on both country radio and Foxtel’s Country Music Channel.
Over previous years, Brook has performed at some of Australia’s most prestigious Country Music Festivals including Deni Ute Muster, Gympie Music Muster, Sydney Country Music Festival, Broadbeach Country Music Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival as has supported such acts as Adam Brand, Troy Kemp, Morgan Evans, Wolfe Brothers, Matt Cornell and Travis Collins. Brook also embarked on a nationwide acoustic tour with fellow country artist, Natalie Pearson in October 2017 which took in both cities and regional areas of NSW, VIC, QLD and WA. This dedication and love of touring has allowed Brook the luxury of building a passionate fan base and earning him the title of being one of Australia’s most respected and powerful new acts.
‘Outta My Song’ is released in perfect timing for performances at Groundwater Country Music Festival and Gympie Music Muster late August. A music clip will also be released over the next few weeks to support the song.
