Country singer-songwriter Will Day was announced as a finalist in the prestigious Nashville based 2024 Unsigned Only Competition today for his popular 2024 single “Find Myself A Dirt Road”. A sister competition of the International Songwriting Competition, Unsigned Only attracts entries from around the world and this year had over 5,000 entries. Only 4% are fortunate enough to get placement in the finals and Day is the only Australian in the ‘Country Category’.
“Find Myself A Dirt Road”, co-written and produced by Gold Coast Music Award winning producer Jared Adlam enjoyed radio success earlier this year and has become a favourite at live shows.
Will explains “I haven’t released a breakup song before, so it’s something new! My producer, Jared Adlam and I wrote this, and I love the imagery it creates in the sense of having to go and find yourself, which sometimes we all have to do. I’m really excited about what Jared has done with the production of this track. It’s still true to my country rock roots but I love how the chorus just opens up and hits you, it’s quite emmotive. We also had fun utilising some cool ‘modern’ sounds.”
